Chapter 4: Elderine's city
As she hoped for, the humans lived in harmony with the elves embracing them with warm heart.
And so, the city of trust and pledge 'Elderine' was built.
Time went by fast, 'Elderine' city became larger and stronger. However, the monsters marched down to the south after realizing there was nowhere else to look for Bijou.
They began to slaughter all trees and the living once again. Elves and humans fought back the best they could but the fortress trembled like a sand castle in front of more countless monsters.
That wasn't all. Epith and his men stepped into the battle. They striked the humans and elves with upgraded power. The Elves and Humans' line of defense was in desperate situation. Countless people lost their loved ones and children, grieving in despair.
Elderine thought this massacre should last no more. She hoped this war could end by sacrificing herself. Eventually, when the sun rose and monsters hid, Elderine went to Epith alone.
"Epith, you once cherished and loved the living….How could you turn to such an evil person? The oaks and lime trees you loved, all of them turned to ashes and fell into oblivion. Don't you know you will never be blessed with the land under the shades of trees?"
"My beautiful and na?ve sister, they are all gods' creation anyway. Even if they are burned down as slick as nothing at all, in god's power it can be created again whenever. If we just destroy all the Bijous!"
"Epith! That is not true! Have you forgotten the power of Bijou? It azures the woods, the land more affluent! And you're trying to destroy that power! You mustn't be used by the gods' foolish jealousy!!"
"That's enough! I don't want to hear anymore! Go away!"
The sacred elven magic had been smeared with darkness. Epith's blasphemous words of destruction covered with darkened heart were no longer the innocent elf once blessed by Legel. Despite of Elderine's desperate cry and tears, Epith held her captive into prison deep dark.
"Epith! Please come back!"
Her scream endlessly echoed around Epith's rims of ears. His lovely sister, smart and wise Elderine….. . Everyone followed and respected her so she believed that he would do the same. However, one moment of jealousy estranged him from Elderine. He reached out for the forces of darkness, everything was smeared with darkness in a blink of an eye.
He thought it was too late for him. He was already defiled. He could only struggle in regret and in the swamp of despair because he locked up his sister in the dark prison.
It was then. A flash spouted, sight was covered full of bright light. It was the first shining light Epith has ever seen since he was defiled by dark force. He has been turning his back on the blessing of the sun…Yet he couldn't pull himself together at the face of the light.
"Elderine!"
Someone's voice..Epith witnessed a glaring man rescuing his sister from the crumbling dark prison.
It was a human.
He was a weak kind called "Human".
'This can't be. How can a human being destroy the prison of darkness? That is embodied with god's power!"
A human being destroyed the prison of darkness built by god to captivate Elderine.
This human was extremely dazzling. He glared so brightly that one couldn't open his eyes. His faith and desire were their own desiring of intensive life they have never seen before.
"No!!"
Sharp blade penetrated the skin, the voice of the lovely sister echoed. No pain was felt. Instead, sorrow burst.
Elderin was blocking in front of Epith. Knight Roumen's sharp blade penetrated her chest, when Roumen was trying to kill Epith.
"Sir Epith!!"
The fallen elves rushed in. Roumen quickly carried Elderine on his back and escaped,
Epith kneeled with silence, giving no orders at all. But only, he was shedding tears.
